Arleston Manor is a Grade II listed building, built in the late 16th century. According to local tradition, it was built as a hunting lodge for James I, though others say it was built by the Foresters for the same purpose. Apparently, Henry II also made it his home on his hunting expeditions to the Wrekin Forest. The Forester family have been hereditary custodians of the portion of the Wrekin Forest known as Wellington Hay since the 12th century, and their name itself is derived from their profession.
In 2004, fourteen homes were built in the grounds of the manor house. Together, these homes form the twin developments of Arleston Manor Mews and Arleston Manor Drive.
In 2007, the development won the 2007 UK Property Awards Best Development award for Shropshire. It was also nominated in the shortlist for the national award.
